Church Partnerships

Church Partnership: A Key Part of Your Legacy Journey

At Legacy Bible Institute, we believe that spiritual growth doesn’t stop in the classroom—it flourishes in the local church. That’s why we emphasize partnership with each student’s home church, ensuring that learning at Legacy translates into real-world ministry and long-term discipleship. Whether continuing involvement with a home church or choosing a host church during your time at Legacy, we want every student to be rooted in biblical community.

Why Church Partnership Matters

A Shared Commitment to Spiritual Growth

We recognize the vital role of the local church in a believer’s ongoing discipleship. Our goal is to strengthen the bridge between Legacy training and church involvement, ensuring that students:
-Continue their spiritual growth under
pastoral guidance.
-Apply their gifts
in real-world ministry settings.
-Transition back into their
home church equipped and strengthened for service.

How We Partner With Churches

  • Spiritual Care "Pass-Off" – As students come into Legacy and complete their time at Legacy, we work closely with their home pastors or mentors to ensure a smooth transition between Legacy and their home church community.
  • Applying Their Gifts – Whether through leadership, discipleship, or outreach, we encourage students to serve and contribute actively to their church with their skills, talents, and spiritual gifts.
  • Open Communication – We work to facilitate check-ins and collaboration between Legacy, students, and their home churches to maintain alignment and support.
  • Ministry Collaboration – Students are encouraged to intern, serve, and lead in their home church, applying their training in mentorship, outreach, and ministry projects.

Qualifications for Attending Your Home Church

Remaining Connected While at Legacy

For local students (Wayne County & NE Ohio area) who have their own transportation, continuing to attend their home church is encouraged, provided they:
-Can
commit to consistent attendance at their church.
-Remain
engaged in discipleship, service, and accountability.
-Keep Legacy staff
informed about their church involvement.

This structure allows for better coordination of spiritual care, ensuring that students receive support from both their church and Legacy. Our goal is for students to reintegrate into their home church stronger, equipped, and prepared to serve faithfully.

Choosing a Host Church During Your Time at Legacy

Finding A Local Church Community

For students who cannot return home weekly, Legacy requires them to actively join any of the local, Bible-believing, gospel-centered churches that our UBY employees are active members of

Students will:
-Attend weekly services and engage
in the church’s community.
-Serve where possible,
applying their training in a real church setting.
-Be supported by UBY mentors and staff
who are active members in these churches.

Our priority is that every student experiences discipleship, fellowship, and accountability in a local church during their time at Legacy.

Partnering with Legacy: A Ministry Partnership for Church Leaders

At Legacy Bible Institute, we recognize the vital role that pastors and church leaders play in the spiritual formation and long-term discipleship of young believers. We see our role as a temporary season of equipping—a time where students are deeply immersed in biblical study, spiritual growth, and hands-on ministry—before being passed back to their home churches to continue serving and growing.

A Seamless Transition: From Church to Legacy and Back Again

Why This Partnership Matters

We want to come alongside church leaders to help equip and disciple the next generation. Legacy functions as an extension of the local church—a season where students deepen their knowledge of Scripture, develop ministry skills, and cultivate a heart for service.

Passing Students to Legacy – Churches send young believers to be trained, mentored, and discipled, knowing they will receive sound biblical teaching and practical ministry experience.

Spiritual Care "Pass-Off" – As students transition back to their home church, we work with pastors and mentors to ensure continued accountability, discipleship, and spiritual growth.

Ministry Application – Students areturn equipped to actively bless and strengthen their church communities in leadership, discipleship, and outreach.

How We Partner with Churches

  • Ongoing Communication – We keep pastors and church leaders updated on students’ spiritual progress, challenges, and ministry experiences.
  • Mentorship & Discipleship – Students receive biblical teaching, hands-on ministry training, and personal mentorship, preparing them for active roles in their home church.
  • Ministry Collaboration – Students are encouraged to intern, serve, and lead within their home church, applying the training they receive at Legacy in mentorship, outreach, and ministry projects.

The Benefits of Church Partnership

  • For Churches: Receive spiritually mature, well-equipped young leaders ready to serve in worship, teaching, discipleship, and outreach.
  • For Students: Experience a structured season of growth before being released back into their church, prepared for deeper service.
  • For Legacy: Build a strong bridge between training and real-world ministry, ensuring that students are not just learning, but living out their faith in their church communities.
